AFA Forest Offices

AFA Forest has its Canadian headquarters in Bolton, Ontario.  A single-storey office addition to their large warehouse facility was in serious disrepair.  The building wall assembly had failed, allowing for water to penetrate the building and damage the concrete floor and foundation walls.  Bind Architecture worked directly with Horne Construction on a revitalization strategy.  The existing walls, windows, doors, floor, and perimeter foundation wall were removed and rebuilt.  The exterior was refreshed, with new, larger windows, storefront door systems, and new cladding.  We used AFA Forests’ products for the exterior, and interior finishing.  A clean interior aesthetic was created, celebrating the companies’ focus on wood products.

The updated office layout was kept quite similar to the existing plan. A couple of minor updates allowed for better efficiency of office activities.

Decorative wood walls were installed in the conference room, and entry. Different sizes and thicknesses of wood were used, to give depth and pattern.
Lunchroom bar.
A large meeting bar was wanted for the lunchroom. Stools can be tucked under the bar surface. The design is simple, with clean lines.
